How is the profit calculated?
Profit = shares × sell price − shares × purchase price − buy commission − sell commission. The return is the profit divided by the total cost including the buy commission.
What is the break-even price?
The sell price at which the trade makes exactly zero after both commissions: (cost + sell commission) ÷ shares.
Why decimal maths?
Floating point gives results like 0.1 + 0.2 = 0.30000000000000004. The calculator uses decimal arithmetic so every cent is exact.
