Charts, levels and alerts
Ranges and bars
The bar under the chart has the ranges (1D to 5Y), the bar sizes for that range (1-minute to 1 hour on 1D and 5D), Ext to show pre-market and after-hours bars, and candles or line. The chart loads more history than the range shows, so you can scroll back.
Scrolling and zooming
- Scroll wheel or trackpad: zoom around the pointer. Sideways swipe: scroll through time.
- Drag anywhere on the chart to pan. Drag the price axis to stretch or squash it; double-click the axis to reset.
- Pinch on a phone. The buttons at the bottom zoom in and out; the circular arrow resets to the latest bars and auto scale.
Levels
Hover a price and click the ⊕ that appears at the right edge (on a phone, tap the chart at that price and the ⊕ appears). The menu sets an alert, or an entry, stop loss or target at that price. Each is a line you can drag. With shares entered in the Position row, every level shows the position's gain or loss at that price, and the cursor shows it too.
Alerts
An alert fires when the price crosses it from the side it was on when you set it. Our server watches every alert around the clock on the live feed, whether or not you have the app open, so a crossing at 4am still reaches you. When one fires:
- the line leaves the chart on every device and a notice shows at the bottom of the screen,
- you get a push notification on each device where you switched it on (Settings, Alerts),
- you get an email, if that's on (it is by default).
Push on iPhone: Safari only delivers push to web apps on the Home Screen. Open the site in Safari, tap Share, Add to Home Screen, open it from there and turn push on in Settings. Android Chrome and desktop browsers work directly.
Quiet hours in Settings stop push notifications between two times (your local time); emails still go.
VWAP
Open Indicators and switch VWAP on. The settings (the gear in the legend) have the anchor period, source, bands and colours, laid out like TradingView's. The eye hides it without removing it.
Layouts
The buttons at the top right of the chart column put one, two side by side, two stacked or four charts on screen. Each pane has its own symbol; the list and arrow keys follow the active pane. Layouts saves the whole screen (panes, symbols, list, range and settings) under a name. The layout in use saves itself as you change things.
Keyboard
- Up and Down: next and previous symbol.
- Type a letter or number: search.
- Cmd/Ctrl+Z and Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+Z: previous and next symbol on the active chart.
